Kendrick Lamar was on hand to give Ray Vaughn advice throughout his heated rap battle with Joey Bada$$.

Speaking to Bootleg Kev, the TDE rapper revealed that he was communicating with Lamar while he and Joey were going back and forth.

Vaughn said: “I’m on the phone with him when I’m going at Joey. ‘Hey, do you fuck with this?'”

He added: “I always get feedback. Shit still don’t come out just like. It’s still got a protocol.”

The rising West Coast star went on to detail some of the notes Kendrick gave him: “If anything it’s like, take something out.”

Bada$$ took a number of shots directly at Kendrick throughout his exchanges with Vaughn earlier this year.

On “The Finals”, Joey rapped: “I salute you Kenny but I know you well aware / You lookin’ for some competition? Then just know that I’ll be right here.”

The track, which is mainly aimed at Vaughn, also includes bars such as: “The way you let Dot dick sit in your mouth / This that same dick linkin’ I was talkin’ about / You n-ggas would do anything for the clout / Crash out over n-ggas who won’t even let you in they house / I bet you ain’t even got his number/It’s funny how the thirst is bein’ disguised as hunger.”

Joey originally declared war on the West Coast with “The Ruler’s Back” which he dropped in January.

On the song, he rapped: “Too much West Coast dick lickin’ / I’m hearing n-ggas throwin’ rocks, really ain’t shit stickin’ / ‘Cause if we’re talking bar for bar, really it’s slim pickings / I rap like I draw pentagrams and kill chickens, n-gga / Fuck around with your soul like Ether, quick for a feature / This that black Air Force energy comin’ out your speaker.”

A response from Kendrick has been teased Glasses Malone.

Malone, who was shouted out earlier this year in Lamar’s Grammys speech, expects his fellow Compton native to respond to the New Yorker’s blatant disrespect.

Reacting to Joey’s latest diss track aimed at the West Coast “Crash Dummy”, Malone said: “Joey know sure as shit bars are coming his way. When is the question.”
