Rihanna and Ciara shared a moment at the 2025 Met Gala that warmed the hearts of OG Twitter users who recall their infamous spat back in the day.
Nearly 15 years have passed since the singers engaged in a fiery exchange on the social platform, which began when CiCi recounted an unpleasant encounter with the “Umbrella” singer while appearing as a guest judge on E!’s Fashion Police in 2011.
“I ran into her recently at a party and she wasn’t the nicest and it’s crazy because I’ve always loved and respected what she’s done with fashion,” she said at the time. “I’ve ran into her before, but this time it wasn’t the most pleasant run-in.”
After catching wind of the critique, Rih retaliated by tweeting: “My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme.”

The two then traded barbs, with Ciara replying: “Trust me Rhianna u dont want to see me on or off the stage.”
“U gangsta huh? Haaa,” RiRi hit back, before adding: “Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of.”
The back-and-forth ended with a sarcastic apology from the Fenty X Savage: “Ciara baby, I love u girl! U hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I’m heartbroken! That’s y I retaliated this way! So sorry! #letsmakeup.”
But things have clearly cooled since then, and both women embraced when they ran into each other on Monday (May 5).

Last year, Rihanna reflected on her famous social media spat, joking that she had fun as an internet troll.

“Do you miss being on the internet, like really on the internet? Like, ‘Good luck booking that stage you speak of’ internet? Because you were so good at it,” asked Rih’s longtime stylist and editor-in-chief of Interview magazine, Mel Ottenberg.
Rihanna replied: “The troll in me, she had a time. Unfortunately, you can’t take anything back from the internet, so I will always have the reminders, but the best troll in me is the silent troll.”
