Lil Baby has revealed that he was not a fan of Kendrick Lamar namedropping him on his Drake diss song âNot Like Us.â
On the chart-topping track, K.Dot used the 4PF rapper, among others, as an example of Drizzyâs âcolonizerâ nature, rapping: âYou run to Atlanta when you need a check balance / Let me break it down for you, this the real n-gga challenge / You called Future when you didnât see the club / Lil Baby helped you get your lingo up.â

Baby was asked about the lyrics in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God that was released on Thursday (December 19), and admitted that he wouldâve preferred to have been kept out of the high-profile feud.
âI ainât really into that side of Hip Hop,â he said, referencing rap beef, before adding with a shrug: âSo I ainât really⊠you know.â

The Atlanta native added that he has a âgreat relationshipâ with Drake, with whom heâs collaborated numerous times on songs such as âWants and Needs,â âYes Indeedâ and âGirls Want Girls.â
âItâs just like with any situation, if you and him were arguing, what the hell you gonna say, man?â he asked Charlamagne. âI donât want nothing to do with it.
âNot saying whatever they got going on ainât real, but I feel like, to me, rap is my work. I donât want that type of shit at work.â

Kendrick Lamar recently explained the deeper meaning behind âNot Like Us,â which not only broke several streaming, sales and chart records but served as the knockout blow in his hotly-contested battle with Drake.
In a rare interview with Harperâs Bazaar magazine, the Compton rap star said: âNot like us is the energy of who I am, the type of man I represent. Now, if you identify with the man that I represent.

âThis man has morals, he has values, he believes in something, he stands on something. Heâs not pandering. Heâs a man who can recognize his mistakes and not be afraid to share the mistakes and can dig deep down into fear-based ideologies or experiences to be able to express them without feeling like heâs less of a man.â
He added: âIf Iâm thinking of âNot Like Us,â Iâm thinking of me and whoever identifies with that.â
While podcaster Mal claimed that Drake âlaughedâ at the bruising diss song, the OVO hitmaker hasnât entirely taken defeat in stride.
Last month, he took legal action against Universal Music Group, accusing them of using streaming bots and payola to artificially boost the popularity of âNot Like Us.â

In the second of two âpre-actionâ filings, Drake also accused the music giant â the parent company of his label Republic and Kendrickâs longtime home of Interscope â of defamation by releasing a song that accuses him of being a sex predator.
Two court dates have been scheduled in the case in December and January. The hearings will determine whether Drake can depose people from UMG, Spotify and iHeartRadio regarding his claims of illegal activity.
